Guwahati to Guwahati

Tour Itinerary

  • Day 1: Guwahati to Shillong

    • Arrive by morning flight to Guwahati.
    • Pick-up from the airport and drive (approximately 4 hrs) to the scenic hill station of Shillong, the capital of Meghalaya.
    •  Enroute Shillong, halt at the scenic Umiam Lake, also locally known as Barapani.
    •  Overnight in a hotel in Shillong.

  • Day 2: Shillong sightseeing

    • After a leisurely breakfast, head out to explore this hill station.
    • Visit the Don Bosco centre for Indigenous Cultures, a museum showcasing the tribal cultures of Northeast India.
    • Drive to the Sacred Grove forest in Mawphlang. On the way back, visit Elephant falls and Shillong Peak to get a great view of the city.
    • Evening at leisure.
    • Overnight in Shillong.

  • Day 3: Shillong to Cherrapunjee via Mawlynnong

    • After breakfast, drive to Cherrapunjee, famous for recording the highest rainfall in the world.
    • Take a detour and visit Mawlynnong, the cleanest village in Asia.
    • Spend the evening at leisure.
    •  Overnight in Cherrapunjee.

  • Day 4: Cherrapunjee to Nongriat (Double Decker Root Bridge)

    • Drive to Tryna village, the starting point for the trek to the Double Decker Root bridge.
    • Climb down nearly 3500 steps to reach Nongriat village, where the bridge is located.
    • These bridges are a bio-engineering marvel and a perfect example of man living in harmony with nature.
    • Relax by the naturally formed pools or interact with the locals.
    • Overnight in a basic guesthouse in Nongriat village.

  • Day 5: Nongriat to Cherrapunjee

    • Start early and trek further to Rainbow falls, located about an hour away from the guesthouse.
    • Later, trek back the same way to Tryna followed by a taxi ride back to Cherrapunjee.
    • Evening at leisure.
    • Overnight in Cherrapunjee.

  • Day 6: Cherrapunjee to Guwahati

    • In the morning, go for sightseeing around Cherrapunjee.
    • Visit the tallest plunge waterfall in India, Nohkalikai Falls.
    • Explore Masmai caves famous for its
    • Stalactite and Stalagmite formations.
    • Drive back to Guwahati.
    • Overnight in Guwahati.

  • Day 7: Departure Day

    • Drop at the airport or railway station for your onward journey.
    • End of service.
